How It Works - Deciding on Additional Inspections
-
Radon Inspections
How do we test for and measure radon levels?
A Continuous Radon Monitor test, conducted by a licensed, radon mitigation specialist, is by far [Bar Graph] the most accurate short-term radon test available for your home. This test typically provides a precise radon level reading in about 48 hours.
-
WDI Inspections
Our State Certified and Licensed technicians will inspect your property for five wood destroying insects: termites, carpenter ants, carpenter bees, powder-post beetles, and old house borer beetles. Additionally, we inspect for water damage and conducive conditions which may contribute to infestation such as plumbing leaks or earth to wood contact.
-
Well Inspection
You’ll likely only have to worry about a well inspection if you’re purchasing a home in a more rural area. Many rural homes aren’t connected to public water services. This means should anything go wrong, you won’t receive help from the city. You’re on your own for any repairs or added filtration systems. The well inspection will ensure the water is safe to use and won’t cause any health hazards. The inspection will also reveal if the well holds enough water to properly service your home.
-
Sewer Scope
A trained, professional inspector will run a specialized, flexible borescope camera, which feeds images and video to a monitor. Then, this camera is run through your home’s drainpipe, to examine the sewer lines and other underground pipes for any flaws, imperfections, or serious problems. This privately-owned pipeline leads from the house to the publicly owned main sewer line or septic tank. Sewer scope inspection can reveal damage to the pipes, blockages, and other problems. It also can spot potential problem areas before they develop into serious issues or hazards.
-
Septic Inspections
These systems treat and dispose of wastewater from your toilet, shower, sinks, and washing goods. Although they are designed for long-term durability, structural problems in the septic system can occur, with common problems including blockages in plumbing or clogged sections of drainfield. Unfortunately, despite the health implications of living around a malfunctioning septic system, the septic tank is often overlooked when it comes to home maintenance and repair identification.
-
Infrared Thermal Imaging
A thermal imaging inspection involves using a FLIR (Forward Looking Infrared) camera, Infrared Camera (IR), or videos to check the outside or inside of a building or home. It looks for water and moisture that may be inside the walls. This is an area an inspector cannot see without opening up the walls or without using this type of technology. This also makes a home inspection even better because an inspector will notice that something is happening in the home, be able to report it appropriately, and investigate more.
How It Works - Scheduling the Appointment
We offer multiple time slots a day, to make sure you can choose a time that works for your client’s schedule that allows you and/or your clients to attend the inspection (the end of the inspection includes a walkthrough of the findings). Although they do not have to be there the entire time, we do encourage someone to be present for the walkthrough portion at the end of the inspection. From there we take care of the rest, we will take care of all scheduling and access code retrieval. Once you schedule your client’s inspection package, the confirmation email will include all necessary information after we have attained all access codes needed. Please provide contact information in the event of a FSBO. Confirmation email may take up to 24 hours after initial request.
