Inspector Spotlight - Marcus Martin with M.A. Home Inspections

What's going on my name is marcus martin i am the owner Lead Inspector over at M A Home Inspections give you some background about myself and my home inspections so i'll start with the name mma home inspections a lot of times people ask where the m8 come from so i do come from commercial construction and one of the things i noticed leaving that industry and looking for a new industry to get into is a lot of the the companies that really really were good and knew how to make sure quality never left the company they just named it after themselves like that's the thing i've always grown up here my father used to always say if you're proud of something put your name on it so my middle names armani so marcus armani home inspections couldn't do martin home inspections because i was already taken so i figured i'd give you the first and the middle name a little bit about me i've got my degree in construction management my professional uh training and expertise has been in construction from working as a maintenance man for an apartment complex building homes with habitat for humanity and then working as a superintendent for a handful of commercial construction companies so essentially my only professional skill is in construction so it just makes sense that i can kind of fit into this this this uh this industry in terms of why i decided to get into home inspections like most of us i had no idea what home inspections actually were and i was getting in i was looking for a third commercial construction company to head into and the real estate agent had mentioned maybe i'd look into home inspections and then kind of explain what home inspections were and i was able to see some of the quality that was at the time that kind of what standard was and i am probably one of the most competitive people i know and i just thought i could do better and i thought in a space where this is such a big such a big decision such a big investment you kind of want somebody that can that that's going to get in and be competitive about where it's not just we come in you know i give you the standard the standards of practice i get in and i'm out like i i really want to be great at this thing so it seemed like a perfect fit between something i naturally am good at and in the space where it makes sense to keep that level of intensity every day so it is truly something i looked into and figured out oh you can actually love what you do and actually be able to provide a service that is meaningful in terms of some of the things i like to do outside of work i like to work on work it's kind of one of those weird things i like to do i'm kind of a strange guy so i always used to tell people i want to go to my grave being the most interesting man on the planet so i'm trying to pick up every hobby i can whether that's learning a different language playing an instrument learning to play a sport i've never heard of until i got into a different country would love to get a pilot license maybe a boat license i've been skydiving i've swung with sharks i've climbed mountains really whatever i can do for their journey on the rush whatever i can do to learn something new that's kind of i am open to experiencing everything life's got to show me so when i am not working or working on work there's no telling where you'll see me it really isn't but i think that that pretty much says enough about me so if you are in the market looking for any kind of home inspection services give us a call we're at 614-657-9807 or you can see our website online to schedule your home inspection online at www.inspectmahi.com
